Title: CNF Reading

Im reading a CNF (Creative non Fiction) that I wrote in my last year of High school. I originally wanted to create a scene with my friends but they were bussy with their collage life, so I thought reading something I put a lot of work writing twords and proud of would be better. I used a sad sound in the background since the CNF I wrote is about my awful middle school teachers. The most challenging part is figuring out where to put the rest of the sounds, since its me reading I had to find a way to add them into the scenes. I mostly used fade in/out when adding the sounds.

Originally I wanted to record Manhattan and just appreciate the city life but I decided to do a person instead of a place. This is a conversation between my best friend and I. I decided to make it more podcast-driven. We didn’t talk about much because of the time limit, we let the conversation flow because we didn’t have a specific topic or anything, and eventually, I decided to use this part for our 25-minute recording. At this part, we were talking about being human, writing in cursive, and just generally setting up. It feels unofficial which I like and it’s overall just a chill conversation. We are both huge cat people so I put a cat-inspired track in the back as music and bleeped out any curse words with the sounds of meows. I also chopped up and combined different parts of the audio to make for a smooth-sounding conversation. I used a reverb effect to end the record because I thought it needed something, and I used various fade-ins/outs to emphasize dramatics or make for smoother transitions. I think the most challenging part of this project was the editing, but I solved It by looking back at the demos and refreshing my memory.

Title: car ride

Description

A car ride with some background sounds of nature, entering a tunnel and stopping outside close to a waterfall.this is a combination of audio files recorded in different parts of the world and did my best to blend them in so no sound would be too out of place.

MMP100 AUDIO PROJECT

Title: Stadium

I was trying to present a situation during soccer game when fans are screaming and supporting their teams. Suddenly there is a foul in the penalty area and we can hear a whistle. After that there is a moment of silence when the whole stadium is waiting for a penalty kick. After the second whistle we hear ball being kicked and happy fans screaming which means that player scored a goal!

Title: Podcasting with Demons

DESCRIPTION:
For this project, I wanted to act out a scene with the help of sound effects to help visualize what’s going on. In the audio portrait, I was going after a parody of a podcast, and then I turned it into an improv where I talk to myself, while adding comedic elements. I thought that this form of the audio portrait would be the easiest to work with for me, I get to be closer to the characters I’m impersonating, and it helps me build my goal to be a voice actor in the future.

Title: Arverne

Description:

I picked a familiar place such as Far Rockaway because it holds a big part of my heart. This is the place I grew up. I watched as they slowly built more and more houses. I watched as they made the boardwalk across the whole Far Rockaway. I have so many memories that I cherish from here. So to sum it up Far Rockaway is somewhere I won’t forget about. After all it is my home.

Title: Our Ferry Ride

Description:

I recorded my latest journey to Astoria on the NYC Ferry. With my boyfriends help I recorded the sound of the water, entering the ferry, the sounds on the ferry and exiting the ferry. I added in a track called “The Sunset Girl” that I think fit the vibe perfectly. I cut and pasted and edited a lot of audio out as well as fading in and out and adjusting the volume. I genuinely enjoyed recording the sounds for this project and putting it all together so I hope you enjoy listening.

Title: Portrait of Columbus Circle

Semester/Year: Fall 2023

Description: 

I decided to do an audio portrait on Columbus Circle because I’m there so often. Before class on Tuesday, I recorded some sounds at Columbus Circle, such as people talking, cars honking, and the trains. In order to improve the ambiance more I found royalty free footstep sounds and bird sounds (both pigeon and robin). I adjusted the volume of a few of my audio files and I used fade in and fade out frequently. Audacity is a challenging program even though it’s simple, but I was able to edit my audio thanks to the recorded lectures on YouTube.
