During my time in college I’ve changed my degree path a couple of times before I settled on where I am now. Each time I was full of anticipation for what’ll be in store, each time I was disappointed for one reason or another. So, to show the anticipation and the meandering melancholy I felt all those times I created this page, it’s very similar to the DVD screensaver you probably used to see as a kid. Remember the anticipation you felt when you thought it’d perfectly hit the corner? That’s how I felt when I switched majors, thinking it’d be perfect but being let down.

I used images from the web to represent each major I chose and the amount of times I switched which was around 4. The images originally came as one whole picture, but I used photoshop to crop them out into each of their own. Then I used CSS to animate it moving across the page. I used it instead of after effects because it’d look cleaner as ‘a part’ of the page instead of an imbedded video. Overall this was “My Direction”.

Title: Build-Your-Own story

Semester/Year: Fall/2023

Coding/programming languages:CSS, JS, HTML

Description: I set out to create a simplistic, personalized storytelling experience, where users can weave their own tales by inputting character names, locations, objects, adjectives, and verbs. Drawing inspiration from classic storytelling, I chose these specific inputs to empower users to craft unique narratives while fostering their creativity. Users interact with the program by providing these elements, triggering the dynamic generation of a personalized story. The most challenging part was structuring the JavaScript functions to seamlessly incorporate user inputs into a cohesive narrative, which required careful string manipulation and HTML element handling. Through meticulous coding and testing, I successfully crafted a fluid storytelling experience adaptable to diverse user inputs.

Title: Carter’s Gallery of Anime

Semester/Year: 2023

Software, coding/programming languages: Replit, AfterEffects, Photoshop

For my final project, I wanted to showcase my love of anime. I used Photoshop to show a collage of my favorite anime character drawings.  I used After Effects to showcase one of my AMV (Anime Music Video) edits and add a text effect to promote my Instagram tag so people can see more edits. My 2nd video was just an extra video that I posted recently on Instagram. The main reason for this project is to introduce myself and share my love for animation. The most challenging part of the project was looking for anime fonts that match my drawings. It took a while but I found them.

Title: Wild Vision
Semester/Year: Fall 2023

Software Used: Photoshop

At first, I thought about an image featuring a pigeon in a high place, referencing how I would look up often as a child to try and spot birds in high buildings. The second image that came to mind was the beer bottle, seeing how they tend to be scattered around the streets wherever you look. And as for the blurred vision, It’s my sight. Don’t have the best sight one it comes to one of my eyes and thought it would add some good effects to this photo.

I modified the beer bottle and added it to the pigeon photo and masked some objects. Along with adding a filter to make it seem like you’re seeing double.
