Fall 2023
My final project is a short story presented in a comic which you can see on two pictures and one short video. It’s a story about 2 friends.
Hope
Fall 2023
After effect
I animated this emotion “Hope” with a green star that is turning arround, going back and forth. I made the background color green since it means hope. the Star is yellow and I represent it as the sun that gives life.
Title: Untitled 2023
Semester/Year: Fall 2023
Program Used: After Effects
I wanted to use something simple, while experimenting with the software. Playing w/ masks to create animations with the text, but still animating it so that it doesn’t feel robotic. The most interesting part was probably experimenting w/ keyframes and easy ease to get different results…
“a wind-blown star”
Fall 2023
After Effects
I animated the emotion “clumsy”, using a basic star shape with a floating animation path, which I then change the opacity, position and colors with a title “a wind-blown star”. This project describe my life in my country which I cannot control anything because military government trying to get power to control every civilians in Myanmar. People just go with a flow like a Star in my animation.

Title: My emotion by Carter M.
Semester/Year: 2023
Software: AfterEffects
The emotion I chose was the 1st thing that came to mind. That night I was home, my phone died and I was waiting for it to start charging. I couldn’t get on Instagram so I was bored. I chose a simple glowing circle because it represents the symbol of my phone charging. I wanted to make a quick video, so just added the word BORED real slow and I added a quick sound singing “I’m bored” for fun. The most challenging part of the project was the exporting. At first it just played the sound and did not show the visuals but once I converted it to mp4 I saw everything.

Semester: Fall 2023
Software: After effects.
Description:
The emotion I choose is Sleepy. I have 3 or 4 layers for the background which would fade into diffrent colors, and the shapes I use are stars. There is the main star and I also added little small stars for the background, I like how the star slowly spinning turned out (It took me a while to get the hang of it)as well as the word “Sleepy” at the end. It was fun!
Story board
Semester: fall 2023
Software: procreate/ after effects.
Description: the emotion I choose was disgust, so for the background i wanted to be a gross green (even though now I look at it its kinda a neon but yea..) then for the shape i put in i wanted like a orange booger color and add eyes to look left then right then create a disgust look as the shape goes into a splatter. Everything was so challenging but i think it looks..ok.
And this is my story board.
“Surprised!!!”
Semester/Year: Fall 2023
Software Used: Adobe After Effects
When I was creating this project I was thinking what emotion would stand out the most. So I picked the emotion that literally jumps out at you. This emotion is something that when you feel you know it’s there. Surprised is something you can’t help but to show so I wanted to capture the essence of that. But overall that was my thinking process when creating this short animation.
Title: ENRAGED
Semester/Year: Fall 2023
Software Used: After Effects, Audacity, Premiere Pro
In this project, while I was thinking about an emotion I was trying to find appropriate music that can match the tone while also going for a visual that’s not too hard to animate or match the rhythm of my selected music. I thought that a theme from a video game, Super Mario 64 would fit in the context of conveying anger, so I lead the animation by the music’s rhythm by trying to make the movement stompy with the drums.
