MP100 | FINAL PROJECT STATEMENT

Title: Carter’s Gallery of Anime

Semester/Year: 2023

Software, coding/programming languages: Replit, AfterEffects, Photoshop

For my final project, I wanted to showcase my love of anime. I used Photoshop to show a collage of my favorite anime character drawings. I used After Effects to showcase one of my AMV (Anime Music Video) edits and add a text effect to promote my Instagram tag so people can see more edits. My 2nd video was just an extra video that I posted recently on Instagram. The main reason for this project is to introduce myself and share my love for animation. The most challenging part of the project was looking for anime fonts that match my drawings. It took a while but I found them.

MMP100 | PROGRAMMING PROJECT STATEMENT

Title: Fast Food Mad Lib

Semester/Year: 2023

Coding/programming languages: Replit – Javascript

A short story to decide which fast food spot to go to for lunch – Taco Bell or Burger King. At the time – I was thinking about what I wanted to eat that day so I wanted to see what other people would choose. I picked Taco Bell and Burger King because they’re my two favorite spots. I have the user enter the name, their favorite place, they had to choose between Taco Bell & Burger King and finally pick a verb. The most challenging part was making sure the story made sense. I just had to keep testing it out until it worked.

Travel Adventure by Carter M.

Title: Choose your travel adventure
Semester/Year: 2023
Coding language/software: Replit

My website is a travel adventure story – it’s senior year and the senior class has to vote on the senior trip. It’s a tie between Japan and Paris and you are the last person to vote. What inspired this story is my love of travel. I’ve been to Paris and my next bucket list trip is to Japan. The most challenging part of the project was making sure choices were entered on the right pages. I just kept going back and forth with the pages like I was the player.

Bored

Title: My emotion by Carter M.

Software: AfterEffects

The emotion I chose was the 1st thing that came to mind. That night I was home, my phone died and I was waiting for it to start charging. I couldn’t get on Instagram so I was bored. I chose a simple glowing circle because it represents the symbol of my phone charging. I wanted to make a quick video, so just added the word BORED real slow and I added a quick sound singing “I’m bored” for fun. The most challenging part of the project was the exporting. At first it just played the sound and did not show the visuals but once I converted it to mp4 I saw everything.

Audio – NYC Subway Surfer by Carter M.

MMP100 | AUDIO PROJECT STATEMENT

Title: NYC Subway Surfer

Semester/Year: Fall 2023

Software: Audacity

I wanted to put together the chaotic sounds of the NYC Subway system. I first recorded the sounds of my daily train ride home from school on the 2 train, then I used the theme music of Subway Surfer – a game I used to play on my phone. Then I layered the regular sounds of announcements and the guys dancing on the train. I wanted to show my love for New York. The most challenging part of the project was looking for other sounds besides the theme song and what I recorded on my phone. The Showtime dancers I found on YouTube so I had to convert the video to audio to add it in.

PART I: RASTER

Title: He is I & I am him
Semester/Year: 2023
Software: Photoshop

Luffy is my favorite character from One Piece because he’s strong and I relate to him because we both love food. Since he’s made out of rubber, he never gets full. I feel like that when I eat all the time. I wanted to use the original picture and use 2 different adjustments – the photo repair strong contrast and the creative black/white negative. I also added an animated self-portrait of me from high school and I used the lasso tool to get it by itself – that was the most challenging.

Title: My favorite emoji

Semester/Year: 2023

When I think of shapes, the 1^st thing that came to mind was emojis and the 1^st emoji that came to my head was the purple devil emoji. Whenever I see someone doing something wrong or say something wrong – I always use this emoji. The most challenging part of the project was making the devil horns, it took a while, but it worked out.
