Purpose: In this assignment we explore the formal qualities of letterforms and practice manipulating type in Adobe InDesign.
Task: Create 3 designs utilizing letters as shapes in a composition. Your design must be abstract with no literal meaning. Pay attention to the negative spaces inside the curves of the letters and in between them. Make these negative spaces active participants in your designs You can scale, rotate, flip and crop type, but not distort it (change its width to height proportion, or skew it).
Typefaces: For each design choose ONE of the 5 Classic Typeface.
Format: 3 designs, each design 6″x6″, black and white.
