The short film I will be working on is Dinner Time by Paul Terry. I decided to choose this film because it was able to implement a story with several characters without any use of dialogue. Its technique was able to keep me hooked with only the animation and actions of the characters. So for the topics I will research is how actions and animation can portray a story and about the difference of silent films and regular films.

Comics are very popular especially to a younger audience. I think this is one of the main reasons animated films were based on comics. The best way to bring a fictional character to life and meet the standards given in a comic is only to make an animated demonstration of the character. Since comics are already images, it is also an easier transfer from a still image to a consecutive demonstration of multiple frames.
Prompt 3:
If I was a member at one of the Gaspard Robertson’s “Fantasmagorie” shows I would definitely experience shock and surprise from being able to see these creatures floating around, while they also appeared out of nowhere. The closest form of entertainment that would give off a similar emotion today would be using a VR headset for the first time. Being inside the game and being able to look around convincing your brain that you are actually experiencing all the events that occur.
My name is Miguel. I am an animation and motion graphics major I picked this course to learn more about the thing I want to do in the furure. I’m more interested in traditional animation and anime. My goal is to learn more about animation and how it came to be, and how I can apply it into my own practice.
