If I was in the audience of one of Gaspard Robertson’s “Fantasmagorie” shows. My reaction would be the combination of fascination and thrill. In terms of entertainment that elicit the same reactions today , I would say that it will be Virtual Reality , Mainly because the Idea of experiencing media in a fully immersive way , and to create a full 3D world that someone could potentially immerse and interact with is fascinating and thrilling. even Though the technology of Virtual reality is still Early and have A long way to go , the potential of it is certainly promising.
