one example of product placement that always stuck with me was the power rangers. everything was marketable the characters the villain’s the mighty morph robots and the multiple variations is a early example of baked in product placement.

In Rooty Toot Toot, characters sometimes blend into the background, while other scenes use bold colors and abstract designs. The dramatic movements make the story more exciting. The illustrator did a great job telling the story visually.
Both films exaggerate how the enemy looks and acts to make them seem worse. This simplifies reality and highlights negative traits. It works as propaganda to influence people’s opinions. this is shown when one film says Hitler smells bad and the other called Americans Drunks
Fully synchronized sound was used in Steamboat Willie, which was the first film Mickey Mouse starred in. The music is used to set a certain mood in the film. For example, the main melody of the film is jolly and jovial, which presents a lighthearted tone. The music intensifies whenever there’s a strong action that’s occurring, such as an impact or a chase
The television series I will be choosing is Robot Chicken
The reason I chose this series is because it is one of my first experiences with stop motion animation and I love the lack of story, aswell as the ability to create such unsettling scenes using clay the reason this interests me is because of my style.
Elements I will research
- political context
- stop motion origin
- visual style
- sound design
- how was the animation series received at the time
- what made the series a success
- presentation and accolades
- why was the show ultimately canceled
I believe the reason many early films were based on print comics was because they provided an easy starting point with existing characters. The art was simple, making it easier to animate since characters already had an established fanbase the animations already have an audience
I chose prompt 2. The form of oral storytelling I have the most experience with is plays, and the play I am most attached to is Hamilton. This play is very similar to early cave drawings in the way information is presented. The songs are brief enough to give you just enough information to make inferences and draw conclusions in your head, while the imagery being acted out provides further details and enhances the audio.
My short paper will be focused on the film “Gertie the dinosaur “ from 1914 by Winsor McCay . I am particularly drawn to this film due to the movement of the dinosaur aswell as the anatomy of the subject I believe animals are the hardest things to animate so being able to successfully portray this in 1914 makes it worth a study In this outline paper I’ll be focusing on :
Budget for film
Intended Audience
Team involvement
Strategies and references used
