The Film I’m going to be pick for my long paper is “Attack on Titan” It is a Japanese animated series written and illustrated by “Hajime Isayama”, the first 3 seasons were animated by “Wit Studio”, and the final season was created by “Studio MAPPA”.
I choose this film because of the amazing storyline, the character development, action and suspense, plus the animation and soundtrack.

By September 2021, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” had become the most popular Japanese animated television show in the US. It belongs to the genre of action-adventure and dark fantasy. As a result of his younger sister being turned into a demon, Tanjiro becomes a demon slayer after being killed by his family. Avengeing his family, he searches for a cure for his sister. Netflix and Hulu are among the streaming services that offer the show.
The story of “Rooty Tooty Toot” is effectively told through these means. All of the color, pattern, drawing, and movement in the film combine to create an engaging and dynamic experience. It is more memorable and impactful with the limited animation style because the key actions and gestures stand out. Characters’ personalities and actions are also emphasized in the stylized drawing style of the film, which makes the characters more relatable.
Since “The Hand” (1965) criticizes the oppression and censorship of the Czech regime, the Czech government refused to distribute the film. As a metaphor for the struggle an individual has against oppressive political forces, the film portrays an isolated and oppressed hand. A threat to the government’s control of the arts and media may have also been perceived in the film’s use of surrealism, dark humor, and unsettling imagery.
In Fighting Tools, the point is conveyed to soldiers through humor, voice, drawing, movement, and storytelling. The film emphasizes the importance of proper military behavior and technique by using a bumbling and careless character, exaggerated voice acting, colorful cartoon drawings, and comical storytelling.
Mickey Mouse’s use of a cow’s tail as a musical instrument is an example of how sound is used to emphasize the action in the film. In addition to highlighting Mickey’s playful nature, the cow mooing and tail slapping create a rhythmic and comedic effect that adds a musical element to the film.

Since I am very interested in history, Winsor McCay’s film is what introduced animation to our world. Winsor McCay’s film prove to us that animation can feel realistic and true to our eyes. he’s the one that open up the doors of animation.

Emile Cohl’s “Fantasmagorie” and Winsor McCay’s “Gertie the Dinosaur” are one of the few earliest films that was being made, one being in 1908 and other one being in 1914. over the 6 years we can tell that animation had improve immensely, going from a hand drawn to having the use of technology. In Emile Cohl’s work we can see that the first cartoon that was ever being made was being shown through drawing of stick figures. on the other hand, Winsor McCay’s film prove to us that animation can feel realistic and true to our eyes. if Emile is who created cartoon, then Winsor is the one that bring it to life.
Prompt 2- In China, shadow puppetry is one of the greatest storytelling back in the days, but we also have Chinese performing arts. it tells a story through martial arts, folk sing, and dances. during my childhood in China, I had seen it once. it was an unforgettable experience; I remember going with my grandma, the theater was not smell but not too big, it was full of people, the chairs weren’t even enough. I went to a lot of threaders in the past but that was my first-time seeing people use martial art to tell a story, it was really fun, haven’t once turn my eye away. summary to shadow puppetry, the story is based on Chinese legends and history.
