About Me
Chantal M. Roberts, CPCU, AIC, RPA, ITP, is an insurance claims consultant, speaker, professor, and author with over 25 years of industry experience.
As CEO of CMR Consulting, she works with attorneys, carriers, and organizations on claims handling standards, litigation support, and expert witness services, with experience across property, liability, cargo, and cannabis claims.
She teaches risk management and insurance at BMCC–CUNY and through The Institutes, focusing on helping students understand how insurance works in practice, not just in theory.
Ms. Roberts is the author of The Art of Adjusting (2021), a professional guide for claims practitioners, and Once Upon A Claim (2024), which uses storytelling to explain insurance concepts to consumers. She has published more than 25 industry articles and is a frequent speaker at national insurance conferences.
Her forthcoming white paper on the return on investment of claims staffing examines how claims operations, training, and workload decisions affect long-term financial outcomes for insurers.
Her work—whether in the classroom, in litigation, or in writing—focuses on one goal: making insurance clearer, more practical, and more connected to the people it serves.
