Project: Physics 220 & 225 Laboratory Manual Review This project consisted of a full review and update of the Laboratory Manual for the University Physics II (PHY 225) and Physics II (PHY 220) courses at BMCC. This homemade manual has been in use for more than eight years, and has been an important tool for instructors because it is adapted to our particular laboratory settings and demands, with a few complete and unique to us laboratories. Over the years, this manual has been a great resource to students, not only for the monetary savings, but also for the practical hands-on experience embedded in it, resulting in a particularly tailored laboratory educational experience. The following changes and improvements were made to the Laboratory Manual: • New cover presentation was created. • Full index of the laboratories was added. • Theory and procedures for each laboratory were completely reviewed. Expansion and clarifications to theoretical background and procedural techniques were made when needed. • Style and format text corrections were made to increase presentability and aesthetics. • Data tables and graphs were added or redrawn and updated in accordance to the reviewed theory and procedural changes made. • Pictures and/or diagrams were added to provide clarity in many experiments, especially those related with electrical circuits. • Two reference appendices were added. One provides plagiarism information, the other provides clarification and examples on how to do proper graphs in reports. Which includes information on how to present graphs made using software with best line fits. • Manual is already in use since the summer of 2025.
