The Joneses

  • Would you categorize the way the Jones family lives as personal selling? Why or why not?

I would categorize the Jones’s as personal selling because they are convincing the people around them to buy the products indirectly. They are advertising it by wearing, using and talking about the items, and the people see them as having it all so they want to keep up with them to feel good.

  • What similarities do you see between the sales tactics the Jones family employs and the marketing tactics of some of your favorite brands? Give an example.

A similarity between jones family and marketing tactics would be when popular people you see where brands the people who look up to them tend to buy the brand as well. Just like when Kate wore the sweat suit with sneakers and the rest of the women went to buy it too. When you look up to people and they have money. People want it too.

  • Based on what you read in the course materials and what you observed in this movie, do you think the way products are marketed in this movie is ethical?

I do think the material that they are marketing are ethical to the people they are marketing too. They are marketing to people who are assumed to be able to afford it and lives a luxury lifestyle.

  • How would you feel if you were friends with someone in the Jones family before you found out their secret? What about afterward?

I would still be friends with the Jones’s afterwards because they aren’t forcing anyone to buy anything. It’s their jobs and it’s legal, and I am not the type of person who follows or wants something just because someone else has it no matter how much I admire them.

Year up headed to year 33 of placing young adults ages 18-29 into corporate careers

Year up has partnered with over 250 companies that their students get to intern with

 Year Up is a national training program for disadvantage adults. Year Up offers Tracks such as Information Technology, Business Operations, Software Development and Application Development. Year Up has two 6-month phases of development. The program is 100% FREE. If you are taking college classes they pay for your tuition, and offer financial help in all aspects. The first 6 months are full training to mold into the corporate world. The next 6 months internship begins and over 50% of students get converted.

Year Up provides Stipends to each student. The first 6 months they provide 100 dollars every 2 weeks. The next 6 months they provide 300 every 2 weeks. They provide extra for students who have a lot of bills to pay. Year Up has open door Student Services to anything you might need and they provide the resources to help you with what ever you need. You leave Year Up with many net working connections and each student starts off making over 50,000 a year. Year Up truly gives you a second chance and a boost ahead.

Product Concepts

Product Concept Writing Assignment

 

There are two of the four pitches that resonated with me the most. One being the human dog beds and the other being the water proof reversed collection. They have resonated with me because I love fuzzy cozy products. When I take a look at the human dog bed, I instantly want to throw myself in it, take a nap, or I imagine cuddling watching good movies while eating snacks. I can also imagine using it after having a long day, coming home taking a shower resting on it a bit while I gather myself together. I think the product will be successful because adults need comfort too. It’s relaxing, comfortable and comfy. It may definitely be more convenient to some more than others. There may be someone out there who wants it just for décor to fill in a space in there living room, or even for their kids to rest. Some people actually enjoy sleeping close to the floor as well. There are also people who can only afford small studio apartments that this human size dog bed may be the best option for them. I think this may be a product that surprises people on how convenient it is. The reversable products are great for outdoors. They are warm, fuzzy, stylish, and rain protectant. Though the fuzz isn’t real you can’t tell and it gives a high-class look. So, you can look literally nice and cozy. Who doesn’t want to be able to look nice and be warm. Also, I can imagine hanging out by a campfire with one of the blankets wrapped around me. I believe that both of the products can grow more over time.

Consumer Decision Making

I just moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and I am looking for some Italian Restaurants that have this popular meal I have seen on TikTok! It’s called Spaghetti Pomodoro. I’m looking for a classy, elegant fancy Restaurant to reward my self on my new move. I am willing to pick up the food so while I drive there, I can begin to familiarize myself with the area. I am looking for an Italian Restaurant that offers some great affordable food deals, and specials because I love to save if I am able too. I’m also enjoy couponing.

Some of the motions that I will take in my decision-making process is to see what Italian Restaurant in the most reasonable distance away from me, how many stars do they have, what are the reviews like, what’s the menu options, what are the prices like, how is cleanliness, and how is the aesthetic. So far, the quality restaurants that I am weighing amongst are restaurant Carmine’s and Restaurant VENETO Ristorante Italiano. While VENETO has a better aesthetic and offers specialties. Carmine’s serves a bigger portion of food and has amazing desserts for my sweet tooth.

I have decided I am going to choose to order from Carmine’s because I’ll be saving more money purchasing there than VENETO. VENTO has specialties but they are still expensive and it’s a very small portion of food not even a child would be full of. Carmine’s is closer drive and has amazing reviews. While they are both great Restaurants. Carmine’s is of my best personal convenience across the board.

As a consumer of having know knowledge of the area researching can fill very risky especially in a new place. It is easy to feel very indecisive about your options. I started doing my research by googling information about these restaurant’s, looking at images, videos and reviews to help me decide. I might ultimately consider Cucina Toscana the food looks delicious. My preference might compare to other consumers who like to know about where they’ll be eating from before they take a risk on their money.
