Consumer Decision Making

If I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in search of some Italian food I would do my usual procedure when it comes to finding the best spot out of every possibility out there. I would use the internet and take in count what the people on the internet are saying and posting. I’m the type of person that strictly goes to a restaurant that has at least 4 stars out of 5 not to be picky but i just want food that’s worth my money.  Which brings me to me my other factor which is affordability, some places charge ridiculous prices with small portions so for this I would dig more deep and head over to their menu/ prices. I believe a restaurant should have an updated menu every so often in terms of keeping it modern and up to standards, I believe this would draw more customers in instead of looking at a years old menu. I also favor authentic food over everything therefore  I would look out for it if the owners are from Italian descent. When it comes to casual over fancy I prefer casual. It doesn’t have to be the most fancy looking but I do believe scenery matters to me depending on the occasion of going out to eat. Some factors I would consider would be seeing how long the business has been open. This would allow me to know that people around the neighborhood are coming back and enjoy what the restaurant has to offer. This might sound like the most obvious answer but there’s more to it because I’m the type of person to analyze almost every little thing because I  want to make sure my money is going to the right company and people.

The restaurants that caught my eyes were  called Salt & Olive and Celeste Ristorante.

In regard to Salt & Olive this restaurant is known for its authenticity and it’s a plus for me since it’s family owned, which I’m all for because I love supporting family owned businesses. This restaurant has 4.5 stars out of 5 with over 200+ reviews and not to mention all the reviews are good with high quality pictures which make it more eye appealing to the customer. The scenery is calm with a touch of fancy to it which was well captured by the customers. The restaurant is known for excellent customer service by the staff in which they offer private rooms for reservation gatherings which is  always a plus for me so this drew my attention towards this restaurant. On the other hand Celeste Ristorante is also known for a true authentic experience as well as being family owned. This restaurant has a rating of 4.8 stars out of 5 with over 300+ which is a bit more than my other pick but i’ll take a a restaurant close to 5 stars. The downside of this one compared to the other hand is its more pricey for almost the same foods which sometimes I question as why restaurants do that which makes me draw to the other restaurant again. The scenery of this restaurant is more old school and almost looks like you’ll feel like you’ll  be in Italy. When it comes to picking one and drawing out my factors mentioned,  I’ll stick to Salt and Olive, I feel like it suits my style of comfort and affordability with good services. According to the consumer decision making process this restaurant felt like the right place that had what I was looking for. As humans we are more targeted to where the people are going to and leaving pictures and reviews for the next customers. I believe this helps the restaurants stay in business because it is out in the public for everyone to read about which is the good thing of technology, it allows us to research in just a click of a button.
