UPDATE for this week (Module 13)

As you know, there is no more reading for this class- you only need to work on your final projects. For this week, there is no update needed/no new discussion board post — however, please feel free to be in touch with me or with each other about any questions or concerns as you work on your project.

Please send me your final project drafts no later than the end of the day on Thursday, December 3.

    • What “data” or material will your intervention be based on?
    • What will you produce? What are you going to do?
    • Why is this the form that your project will take? What is the justification?

Extra Credit opportunity 10/8 from 2-4pm

Hello!

Next week, the Center for Ethnic Studies at BMCC is hosting an event: Free Migrant Survivors! Discussion + Letter Writing Action — please come and/or share the link with anyone you think may be interested!

The first part of the event includes a roundtable discussion with members of Survived and Punished about how gendered violence intersects with policing, incarceration, and immigration enforcement + how defense campaigns have organized to free criminalized migrant survivors.

+ then, we will have a letter writing action to show solidarity with survivors who live within the intersection of gender violence and criminalization! Supplies needed: paper, something to write with, an envelope, and a stamp. I will provide you with a stamp if needed.

Anyone attending the event will receive extra credit!

Be in touch with questions,
