Jody CulkinParticipantAssignment: Ball Study #1
Use Adobe Animate to create an animation of two balls falling from the top of the screen to a ground line. One ball should be very bouncey, give the other ball whatever properties you like. Here’s a simple example with 3 different balls.
Format
Use the following file format: 24fps, width: 1280px | height: 720px. Save your .fla file and export your animation to Quicktime (review exporting instructions in Week 2 page). Upload your animation to Vimeo or Youtube.
Submission
Create a new post on your Open Lab portfolio. Your post should include a link to your Vimeo or Youtube video as well as a short description (reflections on your process, challenges, goals etc. are also welcome).
This assignment is due next week. Submit the following files on the following platforms:
- Blackboard: .fla file and a link to your Open Lab post.
- Open Lab discussion board: Reply to the “Ball Study #1” discussion post with a link to your Open Lab post

EssentiaParticipantFirst ball study animation! I was really excited to create this even though it took me several hours, but I learned how to make my very first decent animation! On the left a larger ball bounces to the right; up and down before becoming flat. On the right a smaller, tennis like ball bounces more in the same spot and slightly goes towards to right corner before going flat. I have also added a blue background, a shadow of a bunny and the ground with little risen bumps (The girl on top is Komi-San from Komi-San can’t communicate. She is really adorable and fun to draw).

Michelle LimaParticipantMy first ball bounce made for the class! This assignment was quite nostalgic in its own way since I recall making a flipbook out of the corners of the pages in my book ever since I was little. Though it feels differently knowing that we were assigned to do this for homework. As shown, The red ball has more bounce to, causing it to go around wildly, while the blue ball has a constant pace, keeping it in one place.

AngeloParticipantNot gonna lie. Using Adobe Animate is a bit tedious as it took me a while to figure out how to delete frames and (since I’m using the classic workspace) I found the window for the frames to be a bit to small for me. I will just keep experimenting with which workspace best works for me. Other than that, I really look forward to doing other projects since I didn’t need to spend too much time once I know how I want to tackle the project.

NoahParticipantA good introduction to the program. Wish I had more time to polish my timing and add audio but my old computer really struggled with the software.

and the youtube one
For this project I learned the basics yeah but i had fun specially with squash and stretch it looked more animated and the movement has funner to do. The third one being slow out was more complicated for me honestly because it looked like it was missing something

Christopher GrahamParticipantThe ball on the left represents a bowling ball that crashes to the ground. And the ball on the right is bounce ball that flew in the air after the bowling ball crashes on the ground.
