There are so many aspects of activism in the form of art when I used to visit museums in the past I saw an environmental activist displaying plastic bags in a way that was quite artsy, however, the message was clear that as beautiful as the different colors are and the way the fonts of the letter were shaped and formulated it causes a problem for our environment thus our oceans seeing that these plastic bags take a vast amount of time to break down and when they do they are found on oceans landfills and even engrossed in mammals system. I believe she was trying to get the attention of the viewers hoping they would see statics and facts about landfill pollution, nevertheless, it was a great exhibit. Another form of activism is poetry. There are many people whether they recite underground or small coffee ships to slam poetry at the Nuyorican café, the written word has always been a way to be an advocate for the voiceless like how art has a way to ignite your thoughts about any injustice in your life that you may face or see others face. Art is a way of putting a face to ageism. racism, colorism, and privilege. There are many ways we can make our activism platform through social media. Social media can be a strong way to get the word out about different political and humanistic issues that arise within marginalized cultures and everyday people. You can make art, sculpture pieces, sing, dance, and all kinds of talent in the name of advocating that can bring attention to what you want to protest about. This was a nice article, and it makes me think of different ways I can support activism personally or for my fellow citizens.
Here’s my activism to a subject I hold dear to my heart. Thank you
