      Hi everyone,

My name is Rosa. I am a mother of two boys named Noah, age 11, and Jonah, 4. My own children, who inspire me every day and teach me how to be a better mother, are actually what inspired me to want to teach young children. As they both have autism and are unique in their own ways. I wanted to be more understanding of their needs and more present as a mother. Of course, there were a lot of individuals around me who had different ideas about the direction I wanted to go, but it didn’t stop me from being interested in education and the various roles it can offer.

Although I’m not very creative, I’m willing to learn and try new things, so I hope to pick up new abilities that will help me be more creative.

      Something personal about me…

Before choosing to return to school, I was unsure about what I was going to do. I lacked confidence and was strugling to figure some things out. At my previous job I was a housekeeping supervisor at a hotel. I enjoyed it and saw myself growing into other positions in the field. But long hours left me with little time for my kids. my youngest was only 2 years old at the time and it devastated me that neither of them saw me until I got home, sometimes 7-8pm. Eventually, I made the decision that I wanted to be more present for my kids and chose to take this route, and although it hasn’t been easy, I am now able to be more present in their lives, and nothing can take that away. As I always like to say, everything happens for a reason, and my children are what I fight for everyday.
