The idea with the annotated outline is to begin to make explicit for yourself (and ultimately for your students and all), in the clearest possible language, what aspects of this course make it FYE-enhanced. Write to a student audience. Highlight more than explain.
Essential elements of an FYE annotated course outline:
1. Weeks/Dates
2. Units/Topics
3. Class Tasks
4. FYE Connections a. Highlight the connections between class tasks and the goals (G1-3) b. Name the FYE topic or campus service being featured (not needed every week) c. Feature the common (FYE-wide) measurable activities (required) i. SMART Goals activity TBA ii. Survey (pre and post) iii. Academic Integrity and Responsibility activity TBA.
