This syllabus is designed to transition students into collegiate life by helping them understand the institution they have entered. It is specifically designed for BMCC however the basic concepts are applicable to any institution. It encourages self-reflection through an early description of reflective assignments and promotes citizenship through a thorough description of the offices and assistance programs on campus. In that way, I hope it is demonstrative of the tenets of Social Responsibility and Citizenship as well as Active Membership in a Learning Community.
