As I was reading Gender 101 it tells us being women it is hard for us just because we are born one does not mean that we wanted to be one. In the reading it talks about how boys get to go to school, and girls doesn’t get to go to school. The only options were given to us is doing chores at home and no education at all because they don’t think it is very important to us since they have the privilege and we do not, so we don’t get to choose. And so even if we do earn more college degree, we still can’t get an education like men does since they don’t value women’s education. Not only that I feel like women also have a lot of things to do not only stay home doing chores or taking care of their men. I felt like we can have our own jobs and opportunity because we also worked hard for the things we want. The reason why we still fight for freedom because we want to also have an education and have a job and get paid equal hours as men. My Mom said that our brother doesn’t have to do chores because he is a boy but to me that doesn’t mean that he should not be doing anything just because of how gender plays a role. Many of the time I had to explained reason to her is that the chores I do he could also do or help out because it wasn’t fair that my sister and I have to do everything. I feel like if she makes it fair then no one would be mad. In Snapshot one I like how it shows a man doing chores while the women are on sofa reading books well when a men help out doing chores then women wouldn’t have to do so much of thing’s they can also choose what to do. This also tells us that working together makes things easier for one another.

When I was watching Disclosure on Netflix the video was way too long, so I didn’t finish the whole thing. I had noticed many of the people talked about their own story as a Transgender. And many more I felt that I really like the way each and different one telling their story like Laverina Cox talked about transgender representative fictional context episode of Jefferson. In one of the parts, she describes her as beautiful, elegant and also black. Laverina she could also relate to one of the parts since Laverina had the same experience as he been bullied in school. Laverina also talked about how in NYC subways she entered people started laughing as if her existence on the subway was funny. And many of the times I thought social media was toxic because the way people say to transgender people like how you hide your penis. To me this wasn’t funny at all because as a human being this is disrespectful and how the way you judge another human that is different. It is also sad that many of the time transgender people are also still being murdered. And the way how people thought of them as they aren’t real or how they don’t exist. But they do exist they are a human like us but different. When a transgender enters a women’s bathroom it is like they committed a crime. Or even entering a men bathroom they’ll know something. It is difficult for them to choose which bathroom. Many of the stereotype was that transgender are dangerous, psychopath and also a serial killer. Since they were like how else you will wear a dress if you’re a man. I don’t really think that it determines either of these because you are who you are, and you can dress what you want and are allowed to express. When people figure out, He’s a woman or She’s a man, they were so shocked. I like Nancy Susano SnapShot because it is true, they are taking the center of telling their side of the story because I’ve never seen that they have ever done that before. I am not a Transgender but hearing their side of story makes me understood more about Transgender story. And I have nothing against anyone. But I’ve noticed that I made a big mistake without asking them their pronouns He/She Him/Her because I was totally confused with what’s going on and it was rude. But as a human we all make tons of mistake and I consider Transgender as human being too. Even so teachers make mistake too when they are grading. But in our everyday lives we learn a lot of things and how we deal with the whole society. Some of the time people hate who they are but however learned to accept who they are and also learn to Love themselves. It is not right when bullying anyone that are different. Especially it is very hard for them already helping each other out.

In SnapShot 11 I like MeiQiChen Snapshot because it really shows that women have the right to choose whether to keep their child or not because it is their own body. And having a choice to choose is like having the freedom to decide while not being control by the choice you made. And they are protesting to gain the right to abortion because some women go through traumatic events like rape and the baby isn’t theirs and choosing to abort it is the only choice for them. But this way of killing the child doesn’t mean you murder a child. It isn’t so easy for women to defend themselves from rape because some of the time rape can happen between when you are drunk or actually with a guy that takes advantage of you when you are drunk. And what I thought of teen pregnancy it is that they are strong women/parents because it is hard these days they have to also go to school and take care of their child. That they didn’t decide to abort their child even though they are a single parent. Also, the thing is that you don’t have enough resources for the baby it would be harder for you to take care of them. Also, some of the time birth control doesn’t work and they’re just pregnant. Anything can happen the condoms might had also break. I watch one of the videos on Youtube called The History of Reproductive Justice it tells me about how Black Women had been through more then any other race of women. They also had been denied for a full range of service protection in the United States. Also low income 63 cent for every dollars a white men actually makes. Also Black Women die much easier during preganacy as white women because how they get their income and also educational. Which isn’t fair because of their color. And it makes us think that this world are suppose to stand around white people. I felt that preganacy could be hard for all women because it can also take the risk of dying if both mom and baby are in there for too long. I also can see that being mom is hard and tough seeing whether to keep their child or to get rid of them. I can’t really relate because I am not a parent yet every parent want their child safe and also happy. Some parents doesn’t want their child to suffer so they also put them up to adoption when they can’t raise them. I don’t really feel like this sound like a very bad idea neither. I had also watched 100 years of period this really tells me that how in different years period had changed over time they use to use cloth for their period. And sanitary belts never seen the belt before but doesn’t really look so comfortable if I was to wear that. That is why there is option that their showing.
Identity tells us a lot of other people it tells us who you are and how you thought of yourself and the way you are seen by the world and how it defines you. The reading ”The Power of Identity Politics” tells us how most people thought of power which is individualized. ”One wakes up in the morning feeling empowered but empowerment is different from power. They had to teach them to do it for themselves because how they don’t have enough power. And how they have for women’s freedom was only given for white women and not for freedom of all women makes it so unfair. So the purpose of power tells us that not everyone can get the power only the white race can.
When I read To Latina To Be Black, Too Black To Be Latina I couldn’t really relate to her but her story tells us that she has been through a lot when she is sitting at the table with other girls and every one of them went quiet. Doesn’t want her to sit there because of her skin color. But she learned to embrace herself and her identity. And doesn’t care about what people say about her. This also tells us that we cannot really do anything to change our race and everyone should accept who they are even if it is hard. And we should all help one another out we are all humans. The only thing that happened in school for me is I don’t even like myself because of how I am Asian American and many people always say these sort of things like do you eat dogs and cats because of what I eat. And I was born in America and many of the people made fun of me and thought I didn’t know English. But everyone can say what they want from their own mouth just don’t listen and try to accept yourself the way you are. I’ve noticed that there doesn’t hurt me as much.
The SnapShot that really stood up to me was Jaisely Dominguez because it shows us all the races and even gender. Basically telling us that every single one of us is humans and we can’t change our race to another. And not only that there are stereotypes in many races like I even wrote about my own race. We should all help each other out. And I felt that not only it help the community but everyone in this world.

The video, Paris Is Burning tells us about during the ball tells us that many people really seem to fit in together either you’re a girl or a boy. How they accept everyone can do anything and do anything. How many of them enjoyed being watched by people also cheering for them. Plus that is the way they fit in without being judged since everyone has certain problems. They also talked about the roles that changed in the ’70s. Looking like a gorgeous movie star to a model. It is for everyone now for more people to be involved in. I feel like it isn’t really a bad thing because they somehow lost and thought of finding something more enjoyable and mostly having fun. Mostly because of the social standard of living in real life the gay men can’t get a job as executives unless having an educational background and the opportunity. But the thing about the ballroom is they can do anything they want to feel confident about themselves for once. By showing the straight world I can be an executive if there were an opportunity to be one. I really like the video because I feel like they can have somewhere to go in life. In the video they also talked about many of the parents also don’t seem like they accept their child as gay. And even though it is like that their lives still ended up great. You just have to accept who you are basically and know that you can change your own lives.
I really like Karinys Carrillo SnapShot because of how it represents Paris Is Burning. Showing us different outfits that each one wears to the ball and how fashion represents them and show people that men can wear, and express themselves. Also when they talked about spoil rich white girls getting what they want don’t really have to struggle and have good finance and nice clothes and having no problem. Well, I felt like it isn’t fair for other races like-colored women. For example, Junie Vallon Snapshot shows how another Black Woman was killed wants to know that they should do something about it. Mostly Black women suffered a lot more than white Women. The opportunity is the skin color white women had. They still go through certain things but not as bad as Black women do.
The Combahee River, Collective Statement tells us that Black Women face difficulty in political work their not really trying to actually fight for oppression but address oppression since they don’t even have the class privilege to rely on or access to resources. And the quote I found that make more sense ”We exist as women who are Black who are feminists, each stranded for the moment, working independently because there is not yet an environment in this society remotely congenial to our struggles because being on the bottom, we would have to do what no one else has done: we would have to fight for the world.” No one had really experienced the way they have to deal with it alone frustrated and how they had to struggle all alone.
I agree with Jaisely Dominguez SnapShot. Basically, it tells us that women are like robots who can do a lot of things for men back and forth and they can help to take care of their own kids. It isn’t so easy for us women. We are not a robot and house chores aren’t so easy when also they have to take care of kids and look out for them. They don’t have three hands or so but only have two hands. Plus writing down a full list of chores and doing all of them can be tiring. Most of the time we know for men going to work and coming home is hard but not as much as what women needed to do. Women need to do chores while also going to work just to help the family and their kids. And when they come home their already drained and tired but men just tell women that it isn’t even hard to do these. Since men don’t experience things like chores and taking care of the home they never know how women felt. Unlike men, they don’t have that much to do if they only work and can just get home and take a break. A lot of time men think a stay home mom they are lazy because they just do chores and complain that they are tired. It is simply not as simple as you think waking up very early cooking breakfast and there’s a whole list they needed to do without taking a break. And for men, they only want to think that they are doing most of the work working hard but don’t see how women did a lot to hold up the entire family. And also women can’t do anything they want and what they are interested in doing like hobbies and other stuff because they took the time to do chores and take care of their family. Only if something like men would also help or try doing chores it would be a lot less than stressing out over them every single day. Or they could ask if they don’t know how doing chores are like. And even so, they can learn something new and help their wives. And not only that women would have been happier and loved their men a lot more. Since this shows that men tried to put in more effort to help out women from stressing out and can do something they like. In Mainardi Pat the Politics of HouseWork ”Man’s accomplishments have always depended on getting help from other people, mostly women”. This quote really stands out to me because without women they’ll have to do all the house chores by themselves and for them, it would also be hard because they had to work at the same time. And can’t only focus on their jobs since too much stress is put upon them. And their success is from women since even then women helped them out a lot by supporting the family and building a family. And when men understand women the divorce rate wouldn’t be high.
