  • Tunde Erika Takaro-Szabo

Hello Everybody! My name is Tunde Takaro-Szabo. I am from Hungary. I grow up in a little village. I finished school in Hungary / Dance Teacher, Agriculture Engineer, Logistic Coordinator/. My mother is a RN nurse. My whole life I have always been proud of my mother and how much she cares about her job and how she helps people who need. I’m living in New York with my husband and our 4 year old Balazs and our 19 months old twins Julia and Roland. When I was pregnant, I had a lot of health issues and a lot of times I had go the hospital. I would see how hard every nurse and doctor worked to give the best care. So, I think I got a lot of help, and I would like to help other people. Thats way I’m coming to BMCC, to become a pediatric nurse.

  • Professor Barnes

Hi Everyone. I started my education at Norwalk Community College, then transferred to SUNY Purchase. I also hold an MA in Literature and a MS in Education, both from CCNY/ The City College of New York. I have been teaching for nearly 20 years: ESL to international students in private language schools in NYC, in public high schools in NYC, in CCNY, and, my most beloved one, teaching you at BMCC. I teach Literacy, Critical Thinking and Composition courses. I am always looking for ways to engage students, improve my classes, and learn new skills. I am sooooo glad I transitioned from Blackboard to the OpenLab, and from textbook-based courses to ZTC/ zero-textbook courses. In my free time, I love to read, write, and explore the world with my two spirited children, and with my partner. I look forward to getting to know you.

My major is business administration, a major that my uncle helped me pick. My life doesn’t have anything special; I am just a girl who is working and studying at the same time as others, so I can be a more responsible person. My job is about helping my mom’s sister sell African handmade all over the united states by traveling every weekend. that job is at the same time tiring and exciting since we’re always traveling. I hope that I will succeed in my studies, and I wish everybody a good semester.

Hello everyone! My name is Karolyne, but people usually call me by my nickname- Karol. I’m from a small town in Brazil called Mogi das Cruzes. I came to the United States 2 years ago to visit my family and decided to start studying English. In the middle of last year, I decided I would like to start college here. I’ve always wanted to do something in the health area because I love to help people, and biology fascinates me. Talking with my sister-in-law, a physical therapist and researching, I fell in love with nursing; that’s why I applied for BMCC. I’m starting my prerequisites to apply for nursing. I miss a lot my parents and my friends from Brazil. I love to go out, watch movies and series, and talk.

Hello, my name is Davlatbek. I am from small country in Middle Asia called Uzbekistan. About my self I moved to USA about 6 years ago. So basically I am a child of two worlds as most of the people in here. Which is not bad think it’s a great advantage because you at least speak two languages plus you run your world thru two lenses and your decisions with you will make will be unique because you had different experiences. All my childhood I was interested in sports so I had great opportunity to experience a lot of different sports but my top would be wrestling and kickboxing.
