1. Key Findings About U.S. Immigration
In the article “Key Findings About U.S. Immigration” by Abby Budiman we understand that the US has more immigrants than other nations. Based on research, we will learn about important facts about immigrants. approximately 50 million or 13.7% people in the US are immigrants, and the numbers are increasing from time to time. Most of these immigrants are here legally (70%).Additionally, not every lawful permanent resident chooses to pursue U.S citizenship because those who wish to do that would like to apply after meeting certain requirements.
At the same time big portion of immigrants in the U.S are American citizens while the minority is undocumented or permanent residents. There has been a drop in the number of undocumented people from Mexico and an increase in the number of outsiders from central America and Asia.Indeed over 1 million immigrants come to the US every year. Most of them are from China. It is predicted that Asian people will be the biggest immigrant group in the US by 2055. More than a million of outsiders had been coming to the U.S from different parts of the globe, but Asian had been at the top of the list. There has been a drop in the number of people from Mexico and an increase of people who are going back to Mexico. It is predicted that for 2055 those who name themself as Asian will be the biggest group. Therefore, the US has resettled the most refugees of any country since the creation of the federal Refugee Resettlement Program in 1980, with about 3 million refugees resettled. However, this number has dropped to 30.000 in 2019 with the largest origin group being from Democratic Republic of the Congo. Texas, Washington, New York, and California relocated more than a 25% of all the refugees accepted in 2018.
Therefore 45% of the nation’s immigrants live in three states: California (24%), Texas (11%) and Florida (10%). In 2018, the largest immigrant populations were in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami metro areas. Also, most of the illegal immigrant population lived in these biggest American cities. However, immigrants in the U.S. have lower levels of education compared to the U.S.- born population. For example, in 2018, immigrants from Mexico and Central America were more likely to have not completed high school and have a bachelor’s or higher degree. On the other hand, immigrants from every region except Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America were just as likely or even more likely to have a bachelor’s degree. Between all those immigrants, those from South Asia have the biggest percentage of bachelor’s degrees.About 30 million immigrants are working or looking for a job 2007 to 2017 in the U.S.Additionally, 50 percent of the US population are English speakers and the rest of them speak other languages. The second most popular language is Spanish. Most of the deported people were not deported because of a convicted atrocity. But at the same time most immigrants from Central America have been caught trying to illegally enter the US. In general, Americans think well of immigrants, with some exceptions. Americans have different opinions about the future of immigrants: some think there should be more of them and others think there should be less.
In conclusion, The United States is the country that has the most immigrants then any other countries in world. A large part of them comes from Mexico, most of them are English speakers. Immigrants seem to be an integral part of the United States, it comes with its good and bad things and there are diverse opinions on that, but for example, most of the Americans have positive opinions about immigration.
2. In the article Key Findings about U.S immigrants by Abby Budiman. He starts saying that the United States is the country who receives the most immigrants in the whole world. Nowadays more than 40 million residents of the U.S were born in another country. These immigrants include people coming from almost every part of the world. The Pew Research Center frequently post statistical sketches about the immigrants. Approximately 50 million or 13.7% people in the US are immigrants, and the numbers are increasing from time to time. Not every lawful permanent resident chooses to pursue U.S. citizenship because those who wish to do that would like to apply after meeting certain requirements. Most common road is Mexico. There is a lot of going on. Even U.S. try to cut that human transfer way it’s still very active. This people working lower price and lower skills jobs. Mostly immigrants have less educated level then grown citizens. In a way they closing a gap. But are they happy? They have some legal rights. 5. Summary
The united state is the country with the most immigrants in the world. Based on portraits made by some research, some questions were asked to dissect the US immigrant population. From the answers to those questions, here is what we find out. From 1965 to the present day, the present number of immigrants living in the United States continues to increase. This makes them a strong presence in the states justified by statistics. Among these immigrants, even though many of them are legal and have their papers in order and in full, some of them are not. Among them, there are some permanent residents, some temporary residents, and some undocumented or non-legal. From 1990 to 2007, very high growth was noted in the number of undocumented immigrants. By from 2017, a fall has been detected because of the fall of Mexico. During this time, growth was observed in the number from Central America. Being an American citizen has not been chosen by all those who are, especially since it requires some criteria to be eligible to be a citizen. During these years, the number of immigrants who opt for nationality has increased despite the fact that the total annual number remains below the same. On the other hand, Mexicans are the population that tends not to be eligible to opt for nationality due to their language and personal barriers, their lack of interest, and financial barriers. Mexico is the country where most immigrants from all over the world come from followed by other countries such as China India Philippines and El Salvador. With the creation of the federal refugee resettlement program in 1980, millions of refugees were relocated with the largest number for the republic of Congo, followed by Burma, Ukraine, Eritrea, and Afghanistan. Among them, there is a minority of Muslims and a majority of ch. In the United States, immigrants usually live in three states, which are California, Texas, and Florida, On the other hand, they are more present in California followed by Texas, Florida, and New York, and other states. About studies, immigrants have a lower level of studies than those born American despite the fact that studies differ from country to country. As for work, almost every immigrant has a job or is looking for one. This shows that immigrants can contribute to the development of the country. On the language side, they are doing very well. Despite all this, many of them have been deported over the years.
6. Summary
“Key Findings About U.S. Immigrates” by Abby Budiman, explores statistics of the American immigrant population. America is a country that stands for individualism, diversity, and freedom of expression. America’s international population have immigrated from all around the world. Abby Budiman’s article categorizes the statistics for where America’ immigrant populations immigrated from, where the immigrant population locations are lived in the U.S, educational levels, work, and legal status. Over one million people from around the world immigrate to America every year. The American population consists of around 50 million immigrants (13.7%), with about 70% of those immigrants here legally. People from China are currently the largest population immigrating to America, and it is estimated that by 2055 Chinese people will be the largest immigrant group. America has resettled more refugees then any other country since the creation of the Federal Refuge Program in 1980. Most immigrants I’ve in large retro area cities, such as New York, Las Angeles, and Miami.
I think this article is good for grouped statistical value, but lacks emotion without personal experiences that hook, relate and capture the reader. I found the article boring, but it served its purpose in identifying facts and statistics for the American immigrant population. I learned that China has the most people immigrating to America, and I was surprised because the news never talks about Chinese immigration, only Mexican and South American imagination. I can relate to this article because I immigrated to America from Hungary. It was interesting to learn the statistics and numbers involved in America’s overall Immigrant population adapting to the U.S.
