I’m not an immigrant but I do have family that originated from Kingston,Jamaica . Through the years I understand the hardships with migrating and gaining an income in a new country. I was able to relate when Espinoza had the desire of having a better home to dwell in. When migrating , there is a lack of support and financial freedom. Also, there’s an experience of culture shock as well. When a new generation comes along, the language barrier plays an impact on relationships as well. As relating to Espinoza and my cousins. They had difficulties adapting to the culture of America. They was seemed as the “outsider “and they found themselves in situations that could of been easily avoided.

Hello Ashantay,
I can relate to what you said. I also have family from the same place. When my family came to America, I remember their culture shock with certain experiences as well. Coming from an island I think my cousins always expressed to me their desire for the American dream. Like a house to live in was something they desired just like the story. Language barrier also impacts communication with those around who don’t speak it or understand it.
Ashantay, have you referred to a particular story, as directed in the prompt?
