1.Reading a poem well involves both the right mindset and knowing how to do it.
2.When I read Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, I felt both impressed and curious because of the beautiful words and the way it talked about love and art lasting forever, especially in the line “But thy eternal summer shall not fade.” I really respected and admired how the poem could talk about love and beauty in such a timeless way. To understand it better, I thought about the metaphors, like how the loved one is compared to a never-ending summer, and how the poem talks about love that goes beyond just the physical and the here-and-now. By feeling the poem and thinking about its words and meanings at the same time, my experience reading it was deep and rich, showing me that poetry needs both emotion and thought to be fully enjoyed.

your response effectively captures the essence of engaging with poetry – it’s a balance between appreciating the emotional resonance of the words and diving into the intellectual exploration of its meanings and metaphors. This holistic approach can indeed lead to a deep and rewarding experience when reading poetry.
