Covid 19 was one of the biggest and scariest times I ever experienced being on this earth. I remember the first time hearing about this virus appearing on the other side of the world. Never in a million years I would think it would spread so quickly all around the globe. Just watching the news and seeing how many humans were affected by this virus was just awful. The American population went drastically down. Some Americans lost their jobs temporarily while others continued working. Americans got the best help that they could give them. They received vaccines that were rapidly developed during the pandemic. Received stimulus checks for those who qualified. Finally got paid leave checks every week for those who qualified as well. Now in the story “Oedipus the King ” the people begged Oedipus their king to save them from the curse that laid down on their city. In the beginning of the story I witness how the citizens went up to the king and bowed to him asking for his help. Words and actions as well asking for his help. At the end Oedipus betrays them in the eyes of the citizens and they no longer bow or respect him in the way they used to respect him

Your analysis of the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the story of “Oedipus the King” in terms of leadership during crises is truly insightful. It is evident that in both situations, people initially sought guidance and assistance from their leaders. However, your observation regarding how the actions of leaders can alter the perception of their followers is significant. This highlights the importance of good leadership and accountability as the decisions made by leaders can impact the level of trust and respect they receive.
Hello Eric, your description is clear, and that was the most strategic pandemic I have ever experienced in my entire life. I heard about it but I have never taken it seriously, when people started dying and couldn’t breathe it was hard and so much happened. That was great.
Eric, thank you for these personal recollections of the time of Covid. The fear you describe here is very similar to the fear of the people of Thebes, and, as you note, everyone was looking to leaders for help.
