Literacy narrative: What’s your story?

Your task is to write a personal literacy narrative of a specific moment or time in your life that represents your relationship with reading and/ or writing.

You can choose to write your essay chronologically (childhood, adolescence, etc) or thematically (when you discovered your passion for books, when you realized you hate writing, etc).

This is an informal essay, and a chance for me to get to know you a bit better. There is no length requirement for this assignment (but there will be for others so enjoy this freedom!).

We will read two sample literacy narratives in class: my own, “From Math and Science to Writing,” and “Proficiency” by Shannon Nichols.
