Summary
Dear Incoming freshman,
First off, congratulations on making it to college; it is a lot better than high school. I must tell you how to make the most of your first year on the largest campus at BMCC. This first year of college is a massive change from everything you are used to in high school. This is a whole new chapter in your life, and you should take advantage of it. Your reputation is defined in high school; you can become anyone you want when you start college. So make the best of the situation and be your best. Be self-motivated and respect everyone on the campus. Try to find good friends who can help you survive the tough times during your college career.
Always try to step out of your comfort zone because college is a time to start all over. Don’t stress out about grades because there are many ways to get help. The best way to succeed is to get tutored and have your papers edited. Also, having a great relationship with your professor is very important. A planner and desk calendar will be your best friends because you will want to write down all your due dates so you do not forget to do an assignment.
Get sleep. I cannot stress this enough. Don’t stay up until three, especially when you have a 9 am class the next day. Find a healthy sleep pattern that allows enough sleep to feel refreshed in the morning. Lack of sleep can be disastrous. Sure, it can be funny sometimes, but ultimately, it can be awful for your health. Take naps after classes (not during classes), and get to bed early. The last bit of advice I would like to give you is to enjoy your college experience. Good luck in the next two years of college and your future career!
Sincerely,
Ahmed
