Summary

In the title “The danger of a single story,” the use of the word danger foreshadows Adichie's main argument, which is basically to say that it is definitely a danger to provide one narrative about a person or a culture, and this leads to a great misunderstanding of different cultures. She create an essential message that she wants us to take seriously and be more mindful when we start speaking about anything that we don't have any knowledge. I agree with her speech and the importance of the main topic points.
Response:
I found myself so related to her life experience and travel in the US and staying with a roommate who has no idea bout her country , culture and their languages. I also found myself in that condition where other classmates in my high school do not know about my country background very well and thinking wrong without knowing me or my cultures. I feel so bad about them because they can't realized about the true story and try to find the actual situation in a single ells story. I think a single story narrative always makes us wrong about other cultures and groups of people around the world.
When I read the whole article I found that my professor Barnes assigned a most important topic in current events. I get very well informed about this topic discussion and this article gave me open minded thinking about other cultures , peoples my classmates country and their languages very well. I learned how dangerous it is to believe in a single story without knowing the actual truth.
