Here at BMCC, we are thrilled to have you as a student. Join a dynamic community of students, a committed staff, and countless learning opportunities as you begin this new chapter of your life. With the help of BMCC, you may achieve your goals, whether they are related to your academic interests, the pursuit of new hobbies, or the preparation for a future job. Make the most of your first year of college by following these advice:
- Stay in Touch: Make friends with other students and coworkers who can help you through college. Join student groups, go to events on campus, and be a part of student clubs. College can be more fun and less stressful if you have people to lean on.
- Explore Your Interests: BMCC has a lot of different classes and chances that you can use to find out more about your interests and hobbies. Do not be afraid to try new things and find out what interests you personally and professionally.
- Stay on Top of Your Assignments: It can be tempting to put things off, but if you stay on top of your assignments from the start, you’ll avoid stress at the last minute and do better in school. Break up big jobs into smaller steps that you can handle, and then do each one one at a time. Also, Google Calendar is going to be your best friend so you better use it!!
- Use the Library: The library is more than just a place to study; it’s a great place to help with schoolwork, and just think. Get to know the library’s services, such as its study rooms, online sources, and librarians who can help you.
- Stay Informed: Check your BMCC email, the college website, and the message boards around campus often to stay up to date on important dates, school rules, and campus news. Knowing what you need to know will help you stay prepared and make sure you don’t miss any chances.
- Believe in Yourself: Finally, have faith in your skills and abilities. Sometimes college is hard, but remember that you have what it takes to do well. It’s okay to ask for help when you need it. Just keep going and don’t give up.
Keep in mind that what you do in college is up to you. You can get the most out of your time at BMCC and set yourself up for future success by staying involved, asking for help when you need it, and keeping a cheerful attitude.
