My Opinion: Adichie's Ted Talk was, in my opinion, quite moving and inspirational. I think that a tale is told from several perspectives. Adichie saw that her roommate had become a victim of a Single Story when she brought up the fact that her roommate had felt sorry for her and was taken aback by her ability to speak English well. For Example, there are a lot of poor individuals in the Dominican Republic, and Americans tend to think that these people are miserable with their lives. All I can say is it's not true; they live and flourish every day, giving thanks to God for another day, and they embrace and are glad for the little that they have. Indeed, crime is terrible, but those individuals appreciate life and the small things in it; as Adichie says, you have to experience it for yourself to fully comprehend it.
