1. On the instagram slides, the 2nd to last one, states “the profits of the employer are the unpaid wages of workers” , do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Me, I speak from experience when I say I agree because I’v had jobs where us the employees would be over worked and burnt out and it was only the employer or employers who were benefitting from it because we were the ones bringing in business, it was much of a win/win situation more of a give and they win situation.
2. I learned that the work that is done by non-men is not only underpaid and undervalued but also not considered as “real work” which makes me think about another thing which is that AT LEAST 80% of businesses are owned by white people mainly white men.
3. The instagram link was my favorite part about this assignment because it made me have a lot of “aha” moments where I was able to relate to or understand the slides. As well because it talks about some of the cons of wage labor and how the employees are affected by it, which made me think of “okay I’m not the only one who thinks that way”. Least favorite part was the second reading, the twitter link,
because of the structure.
-Such as employees being burnout and looking for a new job
-When working people saying you deserve better
-When not working being called lazy
