  1. This week we learned about different ways babies learn math as well as how play affects cognitive development. I never realized that things we do as part of our daily routines are math and it was really interesting to see how it plays a role. It is so interesting to me all the things that babies pick up and even just knowing that they have 2 eyes is them learning math. This met my goals because I learned more techniques from this on how to help infants as well as it showed me a little bit more from an infant’s perspective.

  2. I learned the best practices and different ways children learn math, as well as ways infant teachers can build on children’s play, the importance of embedding math in classrooms, and which toys are used to support infant and toddler learning and development. All of these reading resources assist and support me in achieving my objectives by allowing me to create an atmosphere and curriculum that best supports infant learning in all domains, allowing me to continue to flourish as a teacher.

  3. In module 12 I learned …

The different ways in which math is implemented in a child’s life from such a young age .
The manner in which we use math subconsciously in our own life as adults .
The types of toys that are the most impactful for the development of a child .
    The skills I learned …
The various strategies we can use to teach children math during daily activities such as meal time and diapering .
The types of toys that are best suited to enhance the cognitive development of a child such as : puzzles , fabrics to play hide and seek ; and building blocks .
This will help me reach my goals because I learned the positive impact that homemade toys have on a child . I now understand the different ways to create these toys for the children around me and use them within the comfort of our classroom to monitor their progress .

  4. This week we learned about children have to take the lead on everything e. Children will let you know when they’re hungry and when it’s ready to do something that they would like to do. When they take the lead is shows dollars that they’re important and that we love them. Also you can put math in your every day routines like walking around , when you go shopping, playing.

  5. This weeks module I have learned different ways to incorporate math in children’s lives like in toys and involving different vocabulary to them. introducing new toys to help introduce them to daily math activites like in meal time.
