-Materials that encourage participation. Shabazian & LiSoga state, “Materials that encourage exploration provide feedback and help them to learn that they can make things happen. The cause-and-effect relationship they learn foster amore in depth understanding of the world, helping them realize the relationships between actions and reactions” (61) For instance, when a child shakes a rattle, he hears, and he learns that he can create a sound.

For example, balls or risers to address gross motor skills, playing with kitchens to develop social development, and using fabrics to play peekaboo to develop their cognitive development.

3.- How should infant teachers engage and play with babies to support their development?
Guyton states, “Teachers can intentionally select toys to meet young children’s unique needs and interests, supporting learning. It is also important to be aware of the essential role of teacher child interactions. When teachers engage with children as they play, teachers help children make sense of their experiences and promote children’s further exploration” (50). I agree with the author because we must have a good relationship in order to create effective interactions with children so they can be open to new ideas and at the same time we can help them to understand new experiences when playing.
