Summary
Summary: The film “Parasite” is about two families from different social classes, whose lives became intertwined unexpectedly. The film shows how social inequality and class struggle play a major part in society. The Kim family lives in a cramped basement apartment and struggles to make ends meet. The son of this family was offered an opportunity of a lifetime for himself and his family when he took the job of being an English tutor for the wealthy Parks family. This gave him the idea of firing off all the Parks’ current help and replacing them with his family, this way they can all benefit from these jobs. One scene in particular that stood out to me was when the Parks family left for vacation and the Kims family was left to enjoy the Parks family's “lavish lifestyle”. They sat around in a circle thinking of all they were able to get away with and what they were now able to do, not knowing what was in store for them.
I would follow my conscience: I feel as if the son did follow his conscience and his true feelings of what he thought was right for him and his family.
I don't know what I would do: In this family situation, I believed that this was the best thing they could do to support one another.
I would do whatever would improve my own situation: This is what the Kim family did, they did not take into account that their plan could majorly affect another family.
I would do what God or the scriptures say is right: In a way, I think that the Kim family saw this as a blessing. They were struggling financially and a window opened up for them so they did all they could to take full advantage of it.
I would do whatever made me happy: At a certain time in the Kims family's new job, they counited to support and provide services for the Parks family because they enjoyed the new life they were able to gain because of their job, compared to the way they were used to living.
I would follow the advice of an authority figure: In this case, I believe the authority figures of the son in the Kims' family are his parents, where they provoked and influenced him into taking this opportunity to help improve their current life situation.
I would do whats best for everyone: In their circumstance, the Kim family believed they were doing what was best for their family financially.
If I were in this situation I would do the same thing. At first in the beginning the Kims’ family did not know the consequces they would later face, but in the moment they did what they thought was right and what would benefit their family and for me I agree with them. Looking at how they lived, where they lived, and what they did for a living it could not compare to what this new life was able to give them, even if it was for a little bit. However, I would also have just kept the job as the English tutor and tried my best to save up as much as I can and gain a lot of resources from the Parks’ family, that could have potentially beinefited me and my family in the future. This way no one would have gotten hurt and my families lives would not have been in jeopardy.

Wow, this movie sounds like it was packed with moral dilemma. You make me want to watch since your position aligns with the character’s choices and the reasons for them.
Great analysis! I like your opinion. You’re quit right to say that the Kim family’s actions were dictated not by the wisest decision but their hopeless situation. What is more, it was inspired by the thirst for desperate change, which was sincere but blind sadly. Their only fault was that they were too weak to resist the golden opportunity that seemed to save their lives. The excitement of their new way of living and the feeling of freedom have been displayed thought the film, but despiteof these feelings, it states that not all things should be justified. If you look it up, there were some ethical/moral issues about which they could not know the outcomes, especially in the lives of the Parks family. It is obvious that they did not realize the extent of the problem either, and, specifically, how much they could harm the Park family. Moreover, I believe that they could have followed another path which would have been quite less harmful, not to reach the limits such as kill someone. Probably, as you said, they could have saved their lifes if they had continued developing their skills to then use in a good manner or earning money slowly but adequately. I understand your choice in the end but at the same time, I also admit that one should always consider the interests of the other participants. I know how difficult it is to act properly in such a situation but I think that one should talk a responsible attitude towards such cases.
I agree with when the Kim family thought it was a good idea to get too comfortable in the Park family house, thinking that nothing was going to happen since the Park’s were on vacation.
