Summary
The event discussed in the three articles is the Kanas City shooting that happened at the Chiefs super bowl parade. All three articles go into detail about if the problem is the gun law, gun violence or the person holding the gun. In the article from the right by Charles C.W.Cooke had facts the other two articles did not which was, "That this was not a "mass shooting" in the way that that term is typically used but was an argument between two illegally armed minors that turned violent." In this article what is being explained is how this event does not equal a mass shooting. And how quickly people blame gun laws on these situations rather than all the other illegal things taken place, like how they are minors that shouldn't have a gun in the first place. I think this was done because the argument seemed to lean strongly on how it's more about gun policy, it wanted the reader to think about the other laws broken and why isn't brought up in gun violence situations. Where I notice language and word choice was from the article from the center by Tom Jones and Anegla Fu. They used many quotes one being by Adam Schefter, "And we're not immune to this anywhere at any time at any moment. It can be in temples, churches, malls, stores, nightclubs, and super bowl parades. Shootings are a regular part of our society-tragically." The language and word choice shows how disappointing and sad the gun violence has become lately and it's no telling when and where it can happen next. An example of bias is from the article from the left by The Time Editorial Board, "American gun policy, and American with guns, are achieving it for them." This quote is referring to how foreign agents and domestic white supremacists who want the United States destroyed are getting what they want because of the American gun laws, we are basically killing each other without the help of those who really want to hurt us. It is having the bias towards gun laws and how gun law are the ones to blame for the gun violence problems rather than seeing what other laws are being broken and that need to be discussed as well.

Hey Kiara,
I originally wanted to do this story but after reading your analysis I had to go with something else. You did a great job identifying the biases from the left. You also provided a great summary of what the articles discussed, with comparisons and contrasts between the three. The article from the right touched on the fact that making more gun laws might not be effective at all. The solution is not more laws but trying to find alternative ways to help our communities to avoid/prevent these problems.
Well done!!!
