The movie I chose to discuss about is “Parasite”. The moral dilemma is that in Korea there have been economic inequality issues. A Family of four which they are known as “The Kim Family” used to fold pizza boxes for a company not recieving a good percentage from the company to hold off how they’re living. They are trying to gain wealth and began plotting they’re way in someone else’s family home whom are wealthy.
- Follow my conscience – The Kim family are the ones named parasite since there is a meaning behind this reasoning, as they’re trying to get a hold of the park’s wealth.
- I would do what ever makes me happy – The Kim Family plotted for each individual to work for the Parkers. They got happy as they plot for each old employers to get fired and decided to introduce someone In their family as a friend or someone who they know that are great “workers”. This makes them happy as their own enjoyment of living in their fantasy being present in a wealthy home.
- I would do whatever that would improve my situation – The Kims family decided to change their names to sound very American such as “Jessica” and have lied about living in Chicago. They have plotted for the driver to get fired for having sexual actions in the boss car and for the house keeper whom is allergic to peaches claiming she have some sort of viral illnesses. The daughter from the Kim’s family have lied about studying psychology, lying to the mother that her youngest son have schizophrenia since she study art therapy and gained more sessions and getting paid more for them.
- I would do whatever god or the scripture say is right – They don’t follow anything that’s good and had realized they’re gaining their karma at the end of the movie when the old house keeper tries to expose them for their lies and resulting to them losing so much more then what they have had in the beginning.
- I would do whatever makes me happy – They were happy for a short period of time when they thought they have succeeded in actually gaining full authority in the parker’s home until situations have got worst.
- I would follow the advice of an authority, such as parent or teacher – In the movie “Parasite” it was the total opposite. The kids were lying first and then the parents followed their footsteps. The son and daughter were the ones who got their parents the jobs.
- I would do what is best for everyone involved – There is really not best way of this situation. The father of the Kims family killed the Parkers family father. Which have resulted them to going to trials, the daughter who have passed away that got stabbed from the old housekeeper husband and the Kim’s family father running away and not being able to see them ever again.
In this situation I would not lie and actually work. I understand times can be hard and rough but at the same time they could’ve asked if they needed help with teaching their kids or studying with them. The parents should’ve never got involved with this situation because it did make things more suspicious from all of a sudden the driver being fired and the house keeper being fired the same time they’ve arrived to work for them. The father in the Kims should’ve never killed the Parkers family and I believe it was out of jealousy but this had resulted them being in a worst situations and not gaining trust from anyone since this was all over the news and they were humiliated by the world.
