“Moonlight”

I watched the movie “moonlight ” about a boy named Chiron who grew up in a small neighborhood where everyone judged and mistreated him because he didn’t act as manly as the other boys around him, which later on led him to hate his mother since she was a drug addict who treated him indifferently.  I think a moral dilemma was when Chiron decided to distance himself from his mother in order to be himself. The outcome of this through the moral positions such as “I would follow my conscience” or “ I would do whatever made me happy” is that he will accept and love himself as the person he is, without taking into consideration what other people think or did to him because he would start prioritizing his happiness, self-respect.  If I was in the position of Chiron, I would have left the neighborhood and been far away from those people that do not accept and respect the person I am because only I can decide who I want to be. And I would base my decision on the moral position “I would do whatever made me happy”.
