The CQR that I read is titled “Obesity Crisis-Should the government does more to control rising rates?” by Susan Straight. The article’s main idea is to give us the full report on how Obesity in the United States is at an all-time high, costing the country a lot of billions of dollars in medical bills and lost productivity each year. The influence of commercials that actively push fattening food to children, and hormonal aspects, doom many diets to failure because of this. Several studies have linked obesity to heart disease, diabetes, and other health issues that affect those who have a large amount of weight. I decided to select this article because my argumentative essay will be planned on this topic of overweight in the United States. I learned some interesting facts that hospitals have when it comes to treating overweight people. They have beds that can carry up to 500 pounds and other equipment tools to take care of them. And that there are about 93 million overweight adults here in America. This issue of obesity is something that has always been around the world, not just here in the U.S. The number of health issues it brings is uncountable, some of those are responsible for about 7 percent of all cancer deaths. I am gonna use this article as one of my principal resources for my argumentative essay when the time comes to write it. It will be my first time writing about obesity in an argumentative way so I am excited to see what I come up with.
