On the one hand I feel surprise because it reflects some years that I did not live here, as everything decrease and increase over the years both in rents and other things. I think that with the passing of time everything will go up, even the population can increase, regardless of when covid-19 happened, nothing changed to much and in the part of my area everything has been decrease and increase, nothing has remained at an intermediate point. I think have some relationship with the DARE project because this help you learn how you can evaluating and knowing about the statistics that they give us to know about your area and the population in general.

Step Six: Download Neighborhood Profile Data

I agree with my neighborhood data because I live in Grand Concourse and there are a lot of Hispanic people living in this area, I wonder if the rate that it shows in this data about the percentage of Hispanic people has increased in the past three years because is only showing the year 2019. I always walk around my neighborhood, and I can say that this is true there are a lot of Hispanic people, and there are even more than what the data says now in 2022.
Step 6- Kevin Chango
In my opinion, the data is correct with the daily life I lead because when I moved to this neighborhood, there were practically more white people than Hispanic people. I see that there is also a large population that speaks Italian, but It is not shown in the table. It is a tranquil area, so the level of theft is shallow, and the homicide rate is the same as last year. There were no cases.

I was not surprised about the major decrease in the homicide rate both citywide and in the 75th precinct because of the heavy police presence with foot patrols and random patrols. I also notice a slight fluctuation throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s. The 75th Precinct has really improved after the early 1990s. Citywide, the homicide rate has decreased much more than in the 75th Precinct over these recorded years.

The data for my neighborhood surprised me a little because it differs from what I usually see in my everyday life; I always assumed that my district was populated by an equal number of white and Asian people, but demographics show that the Asian population is only 8.8%.
I also looked at the poverty rate, which is very low, and I believe that is one of the reasons why crime rates are also minimal.
Step three : Research Question
Did the homocide rate between 2010 and 2022 increased or decreased in Brooklyn, located in the 62nd precnict?

This is my neighborhood data for Bedford-Stuyvesant, I am a little surprised by this because I live in this neighborhood and the percentage of Hispanic people that live in this neighborhood is deficient when in reality there are a lot of Hispanic people in that neighborhood. I walk around this neighborhood every day and can tell that the data is a little off or I am probably just amused by the percentage shown.

I’m not surprised by any points because living in Brooklyn it’s a very populated area so of course the percentage would be high. My expectations of how this is related to the overall dare project is that one of the data called “housing code violations” and “poverty rate population under 18” are very high. I didn’t expect this but it would make sense because not every child is born rich. And the housing code violations it was always an issue with pest.
Step 5

I’m very interested that from the years 2003-2012 all the crimes that were reported weren’t cleared. However the amount reported still stayed a little consistent throughout the years compared to the one that were cleared that weren’t so consistent.

I was very surprised with the results of the statistics because I thought for being a precinct that covered part of Queens and Brooklyn they would have more homicides but I can see that the only two years that had an increase in homicides was in 2000 with 6 and in 2004 with 4 this means that ridgewood is not a very quiet neighborhood since in 2020 there were none compared to the other other neighborhoods they reach an increase of 10 or more.
