Participate in elections on November 2nd!

This is a message from NYPIRG

Election Day is right around the corner! If you are registered to vote, don’t forget to cast your ballot in this year’s City-Wide Elections to vote for a new NYC Mayor, new City Council members, and more. By voting in this election, you can make sure that your elected officials make student priorities their priorities as well. Here is some information so that you can feel confident about going to the polls:

1. Election day this year is Tuesday, November 2nd. There is also the option to vote early October 23rd- October 31st. If you want to skip the lines on election day and cast your ballot early, you should take advantage of the opportunity to vote early. Hours vary for early voting times, you can find them here: voterlookup.elections.ny.gov 

2. Your polling location. If you do not know where your polling location is, you can look it up using this website: voterlookup.elections.ny.gov 

3. What’s on the ballot? NYC is voting for Mayor, City Council, Comptroller, Public Advocate, Judges, and District Attorney in some boroughs. Plus 5 ballot questions on the back. To find complete information about who will be on the ballot for your address go to: vote411.org

4. Before you go to the polls you may have some important questions regarding your voting rights. To find answers to these questions go to NYPIRG’s Voter Bill of Rights page here: nypirg.org/vote
