Summary
The fallacy I choose is the Bandwagon Fallacy. This means when people only follow a trend because it’s the popular topic and because everyone else is doing it. This especially is common with fashion trends. For example a brand could put out something ridiculous and give the item as PR to famous celebrities to style and wear. This all brings attention to the product and now a bunch of people want to follow the trend and are wearing something they probably would have never purchased / wore if the famous person never put it on. One example are the MSCHF Big red boots that dropped last year. These were first seen on famous model Sarah Snyder and after that they became super popular and are being sold for $300-$500 based on size. A good way to think of Bandwagon fallacy is “Just do it! Everyone else did..”
