Summary
Critical thinking is the art of analyzing and evaluating with a view to improving it. The speaker Gary Meegan defines critical thinking through Dr. Richard Paul perspective which is that critical thinking is the art of analyzing and evaluating with a view to improving it. The speaker explains how critical thinking the key is to helping us understand how someone's thinking or actions reflects how they see the world. The second speaker Jesse Richardson defines critical thinking as something that allows you to question things rigorously and critical thinking also is the engaging an Indvidual's own minds, their own awareness, by questioning things and from this they can attain understanding not just knowledge. This engaging and awareness keeps the burning curiosity alive for thinkers. According to Gary Meegan critical thinking is important because as he explained we think all the time, but we don't take a look at thinking and how we see things and how our thinking affects how we and others see the world. Also, that critical thinking is so powerful that it allows us to not only look into our own thinking but also the thinking of others. In other words, we can get into anyone's mind through critical thinking. As a critical thinker we grow as thinkers to become better at analyzing and evaluating our thinking and the thinking of others. And through this we can make better decisions. The second speaker Jesse Richardson sees critical thinking as something that is important but not applied in education. He explains we get taught all sort of knowledge but tend to fail to be taught the actual thinking of how to think. He explains that we need to teach kids how to think, not what to think. Critical thinking is not forcing kids to memorize that one right answer, but it is the alighting of the curiosity, and this allows kids to actually want to understand. I agree with the Gary Meegan and Jesse Richardson. I say this because critical thinking allows people to form well-reasoned coherent thoughts and arguments. I think it is something that is very fundamental to how we approach the world. When we become trained as critical thinkers it is also something important that changes in us that is because we become aware of our own thinking.

Your summary is fantastic! Critical thinking means looking at our thoughts to get better and make good choices, as Meegan and Richardson say. Meegan thinks it helps us understand others, and Richardson says we should teach kids how to think, not just what to think. Your thoughts align with theirs, seeing critical thinking as a big deal for making smart decisions and understanding the world.
It’s great that you emphasized Richardsons point in the lack of critical thought education to the youth. It is something that seems to be lacking the in education system a bit for children mainly, and knowing how important it is to exercise this thought process would not only benefit the youth in a scholarly environment but in all life phases as well. As college students of all ages, we know that things may often become a lot more complex as we get older and having those critical thinking skills honed a bit from a younger age will in my opinion be a priceless asset. Very well written commentary Manveer!
Hello, I love your summary! I really liked the way that you explained that Meegan explains that critical thinking helps us comprehend how someone’s thoughts or actions reflect their perception of the world. Also I like how you included what Richardson mentioned about kid and how important is to teach kids how critical thinking can have benefits to them. I highlighted this because in my summary I did not mention the importance that is to teach kids how to think not what to think. Overall I think your summary included a lot of important key point that can help us deeply to understand the topic of critical thinking.
