Discussion Board Post 5: Arguments

The definition of being happy is different in everyone’s life. Like in, ‘The Paradox of Choice’ by Barry Schwartz describes more choice means more decisions to make as a result more expectation is a build-up to the end product. In article 2 it states that” From a happiness standpoint, it’s more important than your job provides a sense of meaning or purpose.”It simply displays the fact that if someone wants to be happy, they need to find what truly makes them pleased rather than chasing something that gives them external peace and causes trouble in a person’s inner peace. I agree with both of the author’s perspectives. If a simple choice makes to our expectation, help us to live our life happily, then we need to stand by that purpose rather than get off track. Like in the article the author points out a quote stated by Lyubomirsky,” every time we experience a rise in income, our aspirations and expectations rise a little bit,” In here we can see that more modifications come in our life and the expectations of our life alter constantly. Therefore to get the true happiness of life one must find the true purpose which leads to a perfect lifestyle choice that honestly brings joy and satisfies all inter and external needs.
