Barry Schwartz conclusion was to lower your expectations, In ” The paradox of choice” he talks about a lot of thing but the most important thing he said was “the key to happiness is to lower your expectations”. that was his conclusion because the more your expectation the less satisfied you are bacause you always thinking that it could be better or if you had less choices you would be satisfied with what you have or chose.
I read the New York Times Article “trying to live on 500k in this town” by Allen Salkin it is more like an argument. and i agree with the arthour, living in certain places can be expensive especially in New York if you can just move some where less expensive and don’t have to worry about the private schools mortages and all those other things. like the Author said the may seem simple “move to Brooklyn or Hoboken, put the children in public schools and buy a Metro Card.” but not every New York based financial excutives would like to have their pay limited they want to stay in that life style the want to “fit in”. living in a expensive neigborhood having their kids go to privated schools having a car and/or a chaufeur is what makes them feel them selves. like stated in the article “The man would certainly not feel like himself on that train” if someone who make 1 to 2 mili a year were to move to a steady location and were to buy a metro card and take the train they would probaly not feel like themself. its just a normal thing to me that a wealthy person would like to live in a expensive location rather than cheaper one and they would just get a car with a chaufeur or drive it them selves, go to charity event etc. which leads to them living on over 500k which is a lot. where you can live a life style like that in a cheaper location.

Hello Kadiatou!
I agree with thought over the author Barry Schwartz’s statement, “the key to happiness is lower expectations.” I believe, in one think that if people want to be truly happy in this life, they Should lower their expectations rather than having high expectations. To benefit true happiness
In “The Paradox of Choice” by Barry Schwartz from TEDTalk, Mr. Schwartz’s conclusion of the argument was “The way to maximize freedom is to maximize choice”. His premises were “the more choice people have, the more freedom they have, and the more freedom they have, the more welfare they have. In the CNBC article titled “From the ‘perfect’ salary to keeping up with the Joneses, here’s how money really affects your happiness”, the author’s conclusion was “The idea is that you need money to meet basic needs, such as access to healthcare and a safe place to live”. The premise said “If you grow up without resources like food, clothing or shelter, then having more money really makes a huge difference in your life and overall well-being”.
People need to make a choice in terms of how they want to live their lives. A person needs to work in order to make a living. When you work, you have a place to stay. When you get paid, you get the freedom to buy whatever you want. You have a choice and you need to choose it wisely. Having money in your bank is a life changer as you don’t have to worry about running out of resources.
