Why apply?

With the CUNY Cultural Corps, you can:

  • Work at a major NYC cultural institution (museums, theaters, libraries, and more).
  • Get paid $20/hr while building your résumé.
  • Earn internship credit if you also enroll in MEA 371.

Important dates

  • Application Deadline: October 21, 2025
  • Zoom Info Session: October 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST 👉 RSVP here

Don’t miss this opportunity to build your résumé and get your foot in the door at some of the most respected cultural organizations in New York City.

Easier to land than corporate internships

If you’ve been hesitant about applying for internships because you’re worried you don’t have what they’re looking for this is the program for you. The requirements are simple:

  • A résumé
  • Two short-answer responses
  • 15 credits completed + 2.5 GPA
  • No prior paid internship experience while a CUNY student (SYEP doensn’t count)

That’s it. And since it’s open only to CUNY students who have no prior paid internship experience, your chances of being selected are much higher than if you were competing for corporate internships across NYC.

When is it?

You apply now in Fall 2025 and work 12 weeks in Spring 2026 from March through May. This is a part-time job at 15hrs per week. Your exact schedule is worked out with the institution you’re working at.

Where can you work?

There are often over 80 partner institutions. Some examples are:

  • Asian American Arts Alliance
  • El Museo del Barrio
  • Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
  • Museum of the Moving Image
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • The New York Botanical Garden
  • The Whitney Museum of American Art

Where do I fit in?

There are a number of types of jobs organized into departments. Most ANI, MMD and VAT students find relevant opportunities in the Communications and Marketing department. Here are the departments:

  • Development & Fundraising
  • Education & Public Programs
