Revised Walk Cycle

Loop the video!

Once I was able to figure out the pen pressure setting I had a much easier time with this project. I realized that getting the skeleton structure of the animation and applying principles first was more important than adding all the little extra details. The details such as: mouth, fingers and hair could come later. I had a lot of fun with this project and luckily  for me, Emeleon’s skin is really light so I didn’t have to do much coloring lol.

Character Design – FINAL PROJECT

This is Emeleon, he’s a big sweetheart. He’s an athlete and he loves to run and climb things, he does parkour for fun and he slams on his hands to run faster or pounce on things. He wears finger-less gloves to protect his hands from calluses, while also being able to grip on things tighter. His nails are really strong and don’t break easily and he uses them in combat. He’s a bit dumb and tends to provoke the wrong people and ends up fighting frequently.

It was difficult to come up with his character traits considering there was so much I wanted to do, I eventually narrowed it down to a dumb loving fighter because I wanted to focus on doing fun dynamic poses in my animation. He was gonna originally be a demon but then I sorta made him a weird hybrid? He has horns, sharp ears, bear-like hands, slick sharp feet, and a lizard tail. It was hard to narrow things down so I just created an amalgamation of sorts and I liked how he came out nonetheless.

I wasn’t able to export it as a gif for some reason, the website wouldn’t take it as a valid form of media. This is my animation loop, the special hand by hand loop effect being the shine on the wheels. I struggled with getting the loop to connect and look smooth.

Carlos’ Ball Animation Study #2

An animation of a ball rolling off a cliff and bouncing away off the screen. I tried to build up anticipation without making it an awkward long pause at the peak of the cliff. I feel as if the animation is fluid and the physics make some sense within my brain, I also feel i could grow upon building anticipation and measuring my arcs to more accurately depict reality.
