This course hub website contains OER/ZTC (Open Educational Resources/Zero Textbook Cost) resources for faculty teaching Introduction to Business (BUS 104) at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). These resources are freely available for use by BMCC faculty and beyond.

This work was created by Hung W (David) Chu and Brielle Buckler , as part of the BMCC Open Education Initiative, which is co-led by the A. Philip Randolph Library and the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (CETLS). The BMCC Open Education Initiative is supported by the CUNY Office of Library Services (OLS) and funded by the New York State Department of Education.

We are making things easier for professors to use Open Educational Resources to eliminate textbook costs for BUS 104 students.

Although BUS 104 instructors are free to select any topics and instructional materials, they should prioritize teaching the skills listed in the Mandatory Course Topics menu item.

Accordingly, the content of this course hub has been divided into suggested “topics.” Each topic has a dedicated aggregation of multiple posts, which include assignments, activities, slides, and other relevant materials. For contributions to the site, go to “contribute.”

Thank you to all Business Management faculty who have already contributed materials to this site. This site is part of a broader effort to encourage openness and collaboration among instructors.

This site is administered by Prof. Brielle Buckler, adjunct at BMCC’s Business Management Department. We welcome questions, comments, and requests for materials. Leave a reply below, or contact us directly at bbuckler@bmcc.cuny.edu, or by visiting openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/members/bbuckler or openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/members/hchu, or oer.bmcc.cuny.edu/contact.
