Retention

What do you think is the most demotivating part of Harper’s job?

The absence of clear communication and support since the departure of Harper’s previous boss, Jose, is the aspect of her job that demotivates Harper the most. Harper has struggled to maintain a healthy work-life balance as a result of being overburdened with additional duties without receiving adequate guidance. She feels as though her efforts are being undervalued and ignored because her new boss, David, is less available to help her develop and manage her workload. Her growing unhappiness and thought of quitting the company have probably been influenced by this lack of direction and support.

If you were an HR manager meeting with Harper’s supervisor, David, what advice would you give to help David re-engage Harper?

In order to re-engage Harper, I would advise David to initiate regular one-on-one meetings with her to discuss her workload, challenges, and career aspirations. Encourage David to clearly define Harper’s roles and responsibilities, providing her with a sense of purpose and direction. It’s crucial to offer growth opportunities aligned with Harper’s interests and skills, showcasing that the company values her development. Additionally, emphasize the importance of recognizing Harper’s contributions through consistent feedback and potentially tangible rewards. Finally, promote a healthy work-life balance to prevent burnout and show that the company cares about her well-being.

What would be the downside of losing Harper as an employee?

Harper’s departure would result in the loss of important  knowledge and expertise. Additionally, it might affect team morale and halt ongoing projects. Additionally, it would take time and money to find a replacement and train them.

The Founder

1.Being a businessperson Ray Kroc saw the potential for the McDonald’s brand to grow quickly through franchising. He wanted McDonald’s to become a worldwide phenomenon. Richard and Maurice McDonald, the brothers who founded the company, they wanted to stay local more like a family buissnes .

2.Base on their situation it was the right move since the brothers were forced to sell due to contractual obligations and business pressures .You can say it was a decent deal because Ray Rock gave them 1.32 millions and royalties.

3.Local store franchisees earned money from the difference between revenue and operating costs.

4.Ray Kroc earned income from franchise fees, royalties, and equipment sales to franchisees. Also by investing in real state buy land and then renting those land to franchisees.

5. Yes it did change my view on McDonalds because Ray Rock showed me that you have to grab the opportunities that are presented to you. Even though some people don’t agree with the choices you are going to make and that if you ever have a business expanding that business is the best move you can make.

Microsoft Reducing Carbon Footprint and Corporate Social Responsibility

Microsoft, a leader in global technology, has proven to be strongly committed to CSR and sustainable business practices, particularly when it comes to lowering its carbon footprint. Microsoft recognizes the urgent need for radical change in energy consumption and production in the face of urgent problems like climate change. The company’s 2022 Environmental Sustainability Report emphasizes the seriousness of climate change by demonstrating that 2022 was the sixth warmest year in recorded history, leading to catastrophic weather events and alarming effects on ecosystems and communities.

Microsoft has established challenging sustainability goals in order to address these issues. The company hopes to achieve carbon negativity by 2030, zero waste generation by 2050, positive water usage, and the offset of all greenhouse gas emissions since its founding. Microsoft is aware of how digital innovation can support sustainable practices. The business is promoting sustainability throughout its supply chain, investing in renewable energy, and lowering the carbon footprint of its goods. Additionally, Microsoft works to ensure that everyone has access to clean energy, which is good for society as a whole.. I would like to make the suggestion that Microsoft continue to create and market cloud-based tools and solutions that allow companies to track, lessen, and report their environmental impact. These innovations, like Cloud for Sustainability, simplify procedures and support businesses in making sustainable decisions based on data.

Finally, Microsoft’s thorough approach to CSR and sustainable business practices, particularly in lowering its carbon footprint, demonstrates its commitment to addressing urgent global challenges. Microsoft can continue to lead in generating positive change for a more sustainable future by strengthening its commitment to innovation, collaboration, employee development, and long-term vision.
