A company I use frequently, is Uber Car service. This companies helps me commute when public transportation becomes a hassle. It always makes me feel a sense of peace to be able to track my uber, destination Route and as well my estimated time of arrival.

Although Uber believes in protecting the environment. Uber has had a lot of reports on sexual assault cases. As I mentioned before, Uber has an app to track your Car. So it is very alarming to hear about the individuals that has ended up in this unfortunate situation. I feel safe with the App. But it has been alarming that there are drivers that will still decide to harm a rider, or other cases a driver being harmed from a passenger.
In 2020 , uber reported a rising and alarming amount rape cases.it was reported 91% of the victims of this crime were riders and about 7% of the victims were drivers.woman made up 81% of the victims while men where 15%.Uber, followed by lyft, first pledged to put together a safety measure transparency report in response to a 2018 CNN investigation into drivers on the platform accused of sexual assault or abuse by passengers since 2014, based on publicly available data including police reports. Uber puts together increased safety measure such as partnered with RapidSOS, a company that sends riders location and relevant information to police department. It also has a and emergency red button for emergency purposes.

As a frequent uber rider, I do look out for suspicious activity at all times. but as stated before the app provides me with reassurance. Throughout my ride their is a feature that checks in on my ride. I feel that Uber can do better with back ground checks and choosing better Drivers. The safety feature they added to their apps reassure me that Uber ethics and morals for their consumers are to ensure their safety and comfort.
