Being Human:  An Anti-AI Educational Statement

    As an educator, I believe in academic integrity. The challenges posed by ChatGPT have forced me to rethink everything. ChatGPT provides users with a product that bypasses process. Process is the province where education happens, and that’s what I assess in my classes.

    The Quandary of AI Use in Our Classrooms

      It’s difficult to believe that AI has only been widely available for public use for a few years now. I anticipate that in a short period of time, we will no longer be having a conversation about whether we should use AI, because it will be so endemic to everything we do. Arguably, it already is.

      AI in Teaching and Learning at BMCC: Faculty Survey Responses

        In Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, a group of BMCC faculty and staff participated in the AAC&U 2025-26 Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum. Last fall, we distributed a survey to ask BMCC faculty about their attitudes about and experiences with Gen AI. In this post, we share key results from the 220 faculty respondents.

        From CETLS to the Faculty Collaboratory: A Space for Connection, Exploration, and Growth

          I love my department, and have been nourished by the discipline specific questions of curriculum and pedagogy that we have explored together over the years. But I am so grateful to have found the space of CETLS to connect with the wider BMCC community. CETLS has taken us out of our discipline based silos and into a collaborative space that has informed our growth as educators.
